Glock 36..or any glock for that matter

The part holding the slide open is the slide lock not a "Slide Release". the proper way to release the slide is the grab the slide and pull it back and release the slide. This also give the slide a few extra millimeters of travel adn helps load the spring in an attempt to load and seat the cartridge. same with the 1911. it is a Slide Lock.

I've owned the Glock 36 now for about 1 year and put through approximatly 1500 rounds. I absolutly love it. I've never had any misfires, jams, or stove pipes. Its is a great duty weapon and an unvelievable off-duty weapon. I completely trust my Glock with my life and that of my fellow officers. If you are looking for a powerful punch ina small package, then I recomend the Glock 36.

Glock 36 Review

My 2nd Glock (other is G19). Had 2 fail to lock backs after last round and one FTE in first 50 rounds, possibly caused my me. Been 100% reliable for last 400 rounds. Recoil is a none issue, more of a push than a muzzle flip. Very accurate, as good as my M&P .45 with inch longer barrel. Very concealable, it has become my daily CCW (replaced an S&W model 642 snubby).

It was worth the 2 week wait, as this model was on back order due to its popularity. Nobody locally could match TopGlock''s price. Even factoring in the transfer fee, I still paid less for this excellent CCW. Dave, Glendale, AZ

Great gun! More than accurate enough for self-defense, carries very well. Had 2 FTE's during the first 50 rounds, possibly limp-wristing. Not a single failure in the next 200 and counting. I do recommend the Pearce grip extender, plus one or otherwise.

Great carry gun in a .45 auto. I was amazed that the recoil was not more violent. I moved from a 9mm to the G36 and expected a bigger push on the gun. Back on target very quickly with real nice groups. Get your own!

Great gun. It's dead accurate right out of the box and will stop anybody or just about anything yet small enough to fit in your pocket, plus it's a Glock. What more can you ask for. I'm a retired NYC Police Officer and would not hesitate for a second carrying it at work.

Great conceal pistol since I carry all the time. For those complaining about the slide release, it really isn't one. Release the slide by either pulling back on it or purchasing the extended slide release. Accurate out of the box with moderate recoil for a short frame/short barrel. Mine came equipped with Glock night sights.

The little pistol fit every aspect of why I bought it,i.e., small, powerful, accurate and reliable out of the box. The only ammo I found that it DOES NOT LIKE is 200 grain SWC. It will misfeed only the last round or two almost every time. It shoots 230 grain JHP or ball without failure. I have run about 300 rounds of this through the gun. If you concentrate you can group under 3 inches at 35 yards with no problem. All of this is high praise from a dedicated 1911 man. I just wanted a little handier pistol than a Colt Commander and this fits the bill perfectly.

I can''t say enough about this fantastic handgun. As a CCW permit holder, I carry it daily in a Galco Skyops holster, which allows me to tuck the shirt OVER the pistol. Sweet. It goes bang EVERY time, it''s accurate & easy to carry. My experience buying it through TopGlock was equally excellent. My wife & daughter both find it easy to handle, & shoot VERY well with it. My advice is, Buy it, you''ll love it.

In the first 10 days of ownership, I have shot this slimline gun 3 times, for a total of 150 rounds. As expected, no problems at all with a Glock. The recoil is not too harsh, even when shooting with just one hand. As expected, accuracy falls off after 15 yds with this subcompact, short-barreled gun. Let me know if someone makes a higher cap. mag. for this model.

I''ve only put about 400 rds through my G36, but it has NEVER failed in any manner. I''ve put Remington golden saber 185 gr JHP +P and 230 gr FMJ without any issues. My G21 ].45 also[ doesn''t like the 185 gr JHP''s though... No problem for me since the G36 is my concealed carry. Also, I intalled the carryclip which is excellent! The weapon truly disappears under a shirt since you cannot find a lighter or less obtrusive carry system than the carryclip. If you''re thinking about the G36, buy it!

This is my first Glock ]CC purposes[ and I''m quite impressed. I''ve had a few FTF with the first couple hundred rounds, but it could be the cheap Russian ammo from Walmart. However, the Hornady Critical Defense Ammunition has no problem in this Glock. I highly recommend the Pearce + 0 Extension for a better grip.

Took it out of the box and cleaned it. Fired a whole box of the crappiest, cheapest, steel cartidge 230 grain bullets I could find. Surprisingly accurate, and no failures. This may be my new favorite over the Glock Model 19. I can''t decide....There is a mag extension for the 36 that adds 1 one round and feels and looks good.

A Fun Shooter. Really!
By Plinkerguy
Review Date: 10/29/2009
Rating: A Fun Shooter. Really!
Just tried out my new G36 for the first time, and I love it! This is my first 45ACP and my first Glock. I only had time for 120 rounds, but I was able to try UMC, Win, and Fed 230gr hardball. Hardly an exhaustive test, but functioning was perfect in every respect. The factory sights were right on the bean, and all brands shot to the same point of aim. I know this is a dedicated CCW, but I''m telling you its a hoot to shoot. I expected a stubby, lightweight .45 to kick my arm into last week. I was pleasantly surprised by the gentle bump and modest muzzle flip. I''ve shot .38 revolvers that were worse than the G36! This is a suitable choice for both self-defense and recreation. The G36 is a fun shooter...really!

I owned g36 for 2 years and love it, I am a 1911 guy and also have a Defender, I chose the G-36 for one reason over the Defender, When you pull the trigger it will go bang!! and it will feed the next round. I travel for my job and pull my trailer when on the road and i trust the G-36 to bring me home ever week. Then again I do carry a AK-74 with 7 30 round mags (210 rnds of 545x39) so if the Glock dont get you the AK will!
