I was very pleased with my previous purchase of a Storm Lake barrel for my G19, so I was confident that selecting a Storm Lake for my G30SF was a smart move. I have not been disappointed. After a quick swab with Boretech, I headed for the range. I had tried the factory barrel, and knew that the pistol was capable of excellent accuracy, so I was ready to be less than impressed with the aftermarket tube. No worries, the barrel dropped in like it was factory, and functioned perfectly. I had read in many a blog and bulletin board that the G30 would not feed wad cutters. Maybe I''m just lucky but I fed it the same loads I shoot in my 1911, and it expended 50 rounds like they were hardball, with no FTF, FTE, or jams. The accuracy was excellent, and the functioning was smooth as glass. I can now practice with lead bullet reloads, and then install the factory barrel for carry. I''m giving it 5 stars, because there was not a choice for 6.

What a relief to use lead rounds with no need for special solvents and lead removal brushes! Fits smooth and gun works just as well or better, even handles reloads OK.
