I must say that I have really liked this holster for off duty cary. It holds my Glock 19 tight to my side and it barely prints when your trying to conceal it. My original was bought because of the price (15.00). I was looking for a fobus but picked this up on advice from the shop owner. It has lasted 4 years with almost constant use and only now needs to be replaced due to normal wear and tear. I plan on getting another soon. Deputy Doug Uhlmann Ich Dien

I''m a paddle-holster guy. I wear stiff belts, worn tight, and have never had a paddle holster shift or sag, much less come free with a draw. I have a lot of paddle holsters and I wear one all the time. My usual carry gun is a Glock 19. I first experienced Houston holsters due to them being the only brand that made a paddle for a small .380 auto that I had when I first started carrying. For bigger guns, including the Glock, I tried paddles from others. The best being from Fobus. However, the Fobus holsters do a kind of form-fitting "cut" of the plastic around the rivets. This gives the holster outline the appearance of a gun with the rivet at the muzzle-end looking like a front sight. To my knowledge, I have never let my weapon become exposed while carrying concealed, even though open carry is legal in my state. That said, I fear the bottom (muzzle) end of my holster becoming exposed when I''m reaching for something. The Fobus holster itself looks too much like a "gun." Houston paddles with their "blunter" shape and that fuzzy texture look less like what they are. Which, while carrying concealed, is a good thing. I do like the metal reinforcing strap around the rivets on Fobus paddles, but I have not had any loosening or tearing of the Houston rivets. My Houston paddles have survived force-on-force training where a "bad guy" grabs for my gun and a wrestling match ensues with me clamping my hand down on his hand which is on the grip of the gun. A lot of force is generated through the attachment between the paddle and holster sleeve. No problems with Houston or Fobus paddles. Many paddles, including Houston and Fobus, do not have retention force adjustments. I find the initial retention a little high on the Fobus and just about right on the Houston. I reduce the force by just spreading the holster and bending the plastic out a bit until I get the retention force just right for me. Better too tight than too loose on a new holster--you can always loosen them up. Very hard to increase retention force in a non-adjustable holster.
